Steam Experience

Ionia Prison Power Plant

Project consisted of replacing the Ionia Prison Power Plant steam boilers and associated system with two 41,000 MBH (1,000 HP) 100 PSI steam boilers to serve the Ionia Complex including multiple buildings.  The new boiler plant has steam boilers, boiler feed system, condensate pump system, boiler plant controls, economizers, water softeners, chemical feed system, combustion air and a blow down system.

West Shore Medical Center

Project consisted of disconnecting West Shore Medical Center Hospital from a remotely located boiler plant that was serving the hospital and add a new high pressure boiler plant dedicated to serving the hospital.  The design included adding an addition onto an existing mechanical room and renovating the existing mechanical room to still maintain fresh air intakes, exhausts and vents.  The new boiler plant has 4 high pressure 60 horse power boilers, boiler feed system, condensate pump system, boiler plant controls, two fuel sources for the boilers, chemical feed system, combustion air and a blow down system.

Ionia Prison Dormitory 

Project consisted of disconnecting the Dormitory buildings from a remotely located boiler plant that was serving the facility and adding a new high pressure boiler plant to serve the Dormitory buildings.  The design included adding a new mechanical building steam piping in a tunnel to connect into an existing vault and complete boiler system.  The new boiler plant has two 100 PSI, 5,250 MBH boilers, boiler feed system, condensate pump system, boiler plant controls, water softeners, chemical feed system, combustion air and a blow down system.

Michigan Center High School

Project consisted of completely replacing the existing steam boiler plant with three 15 PSI, 80 horse power steam boilers.  The project included replacing the boiler feed system, blow down system, controls, new combustion air system, modifying and reworking piping and venting systems.

Ingham County Jail Boiler

Project consisted of completely replacing three existing steam boilers with three 2,500 MBH steam boilers.  The boiler feed system, blowdown, and all associated piping and controls were replaced with a new energy efficient system.

Library and Historical Center

Project consisted of completely replacing the steam pressure reducing station serving the building.  All the controls serving the existing steam to hot water heat exchangers were upgraded also.
