Boiler Experience

West Shore Medical Center

Project consisted of disconnecting West Shore Medical Center Hospital from a remotely located boiler plant that was serving the hospital and adding a new high pressure boiler plant to serve the hospital.  The design included an addition onto an existing mechanical room and renovating the existing mechanical room to maintain fresh air intakes, exhausts, and vents.  The new boiler plant has 4 high pressure 60 horse power boilers, boiler feed system, condensate pump system, boiler plant controls, two fuel sources for the boilers, chemical feed system, combustion air, and a blow down system.

Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility

The project consisted of disconnecting the Dormitory buildings from a remotely located boiler plant that was serving the facility and adding a new high pressure boiler plant to serve the Dormitory buildings.  The design included adding a new mechanical building steam piping tunnel to connect into an existing vault and complete boiler system.  The new boiler plant has two 100 PSI, 5,250 MBH boilers, boiler feed system, condensate pump system, boiler plant controls, water softeners, chemical feed system, combustion air and a blow down system.

Michigan Reformatory (RMI)

Project consisted of replacing the Ionia Prison Power Plant steam boilers and associated system with two 41,000 MBH (1,000 HP) 100 PSI steam boilers to serve the Michigan Reformatory Prison complex.  The new boiler plant has steam boilers, boiler feed system, condensate pump system, boiler plant controls, economizers, water softeners, chemical feed system, combustion air and a blow down system.

Ionia Correctional Facility (ICF)

Project consisted of disconnecting the entire Ionia Correctional Facility consisting of approximately 267,240 square feet from a remotely located steam boiler plant that was serving multiple facilities to seven smaller hydronic boiler systems to serve nine buildings.  The design included installing twenty new condensing boilers (28,750 MBH total combined load), hydronic piping, coils, and gas piping.

Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility

Project consisted of disconnecting the entire Handlon Correctional Facility consisting of approximately 326,500 square foot from a remotely located steam boiler plant that was serving multiple facilities to one central five hydronic boiler system to serve nine buildings.  The design included installing five new condensing boilers (25,000 MBH combined total load), hydronic piping, and gas piping.

Michigan Center High School

Project consisted of completely replacing existing steam boiler plant with three 15 PSI, 80 HP steam boilers.  The project included replacing the boiler feed system, blow down system, controls, new combustion air system, modify and rework piping and venting systems.

North West School

Project consisted of completely replacing existing hot water boiler plant with three two million BTU hot water boilers.  The project included replacing all the piping in the boiler plant, controls, new combustion air system, and new pumping system.

Ingham County Jail

Project consisted of completely replacing three existing steam boilers with three 2,500 MBH steam boilers.  The boiler feed system, blowdown, and all associated piping and controls were replaced with a new energy efficient system.
